Mew - No more Stories......

Let me just start of by saying that i am a big fan of this band. I loved And The Glass Handed Kites, It had this dark texture to it that really responded to and the follow up album does not disappoint. I have read on several occasions that the band had intentionally tried to make a more upbeat record that didn't sound so down. I don't really hear that on this record. Maybe if i sat down with the Lyric sheet i would understand what the lead singer was trying to tell me but to be honest with you i don't really care all that much about that shit. One thing that has to be said is that this is a great sounding modern rock record that lives up to whatever expectations you may of had. If you had never heard of this band i would recommend you start with this record and then go backwards through there catalogue. The album opens up with a bang with the lead single taking everyone by surprise with its choppy guitars 'Introducing Palace Prayers' also i would say ' Repeaterbeater' and ' Cartoons and Macrame Wounds' are highlights for me. Listen to this band if you like danish rock (Kashmir) or dark indie pop.

Peace,
Nathan
